Magic Treehouse: Revolutionary War on Wednesday
Magic Treehouse: Revolutionary War on Wednesday
Author: Mary Pope Osborne
Genre: Historical Fiction
Grades: 3-6
This book is about a brother and sister, named Jack and Annie who can "travel through time" from the books they read in their treehouse. Jack and Annie have a list of four things to find and today they had to find something to send. Jack finds a book called "The Revolutionary War" and they end up at the Delaware River on Christmas in 1776. They had met a captain who gave Jack a letter "to send" to his kids if his mission were to go bad. Annie runs away to find George Washington. When Jack finds Annie it's time to go because they have what they need. Jack and Annie do not get off the boat fast enough and end up crossing the river with George Washington and convince him to fight for the future kids of America. This would be a great book to read for free time because it allows the children to think more adventurously.
