This story is about a friendship between a spider and a pig living on a farm. Wilbur the pig was the runt of the litter and was going to be slaughtered, but a young girl was there to convince her father to not kill the pig.  Wilbur was an out cast at the farm. He ends up escaping the farm, and after being caught he realizes life at the farm really isn't that bad because he has everything he needs. He then meets a spider who he becomes good friends with and ends up saving his life.
