Astrid's mom is always trying to culturally enlighten her by introducing her to all kinds of things like art and poetry. The only saving grace is that she gets to bring along on of her friends, Nicole. One night, Astrid's mom decides to take her to the roller derby. While watching Astrid is amazed by everything that has to do with roller derby but Nicole would rather go to ballet camp. At ballet camp, Nicole becomes friends with Astrid's archrival and suddenly Astrid and Nicole are not friends anymore. So Astrid goes to roller derby camp by herself but sadly she is not very good at it. Luckily, her new friend Zoey helps her practice. Then one day, Zoey takes the one spot on the team that Astrid wanted, the team jammer. With no friends, Astrid looks to her hero, Rainbow Bite, for guidance.
