This book is about the Aztec presence in Mexico and the origin of their empire and the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. On their island, the Aztecs worked day and night to build their empire. Once their home was built they began to want their neighbors land the Aztec warriors soon took over those territories. The Aztecs built their empire in less than 200 years. In 1519, the Aztec calendar warned of a great trouble to destroy their great empire. One day, Aztec lookouts spotted travelers from Spain searching fro gold. The Spaniards befriended the Aztecs, but the Aztec leader soon became a prisoner of the Spaniards. The Spaniards took all of the Aztec gold and they eventually went to war. Many died on both sides, but eventually the Spaniards overpowered the Aztecs and tore down their empire.
