This story is about a mouse's walk through the woods and his attempt to avoid danger. However, on his way he comes across many dangerous animals. Each time he met a dangerous animal they tried to eat him, but due to his wits he was able to escape. Each time he told the dangerous animals he was going to eat with his friend, the Gruffalo. The mouse made the Gruffalo seem so terrifying thata the predators ran away because of the fear of getting eaten. After outwitting all of the animals, the mouse is shocked to meet the Gruffalo. The Gruffalo threatens to eat the mouse, but the mouse tricks him to think that he is the scariest creature in the forest. The two walk through the forest and all the other animals flee. The Gruffalo was impressed with the mouse, and when the mouse threatened him, he flees.
