This book is about a young girl, Catherine, who has a younger brother, David, who is autistic. Catherine tries to make David normal by setting rules for him. Catherine is excited to meet and be friends with a young girl that is moving in next door. When her brother is in therapy she draws to pass time, and meets a boy in a wheelchair and cant speak. Since he cannot speak Caroline makes cards for him to communicate with people. Then she meets the girl next door and decides she really wants to be friends with her. By the end of the story, Catherine realizes that even though she can't be normal, she accepts her life and decides to make it the best. This is a good book to read because it shows kids to accept others.
